Florence Broadhurst & Eclettica

Signature Prints and Eclettica are thrilled to introduce a truly unique collection, combining the stunning designs of iconic Australian designer, Florence Broadhurst, with the sophisticated simplicity of the Eclettica handbag range.

The bold designs of Florence Broadhurst have always lent themselves to high end fashion, right from when Florence herself was a dynamic personality in the 1970's Sydney social scene. Three decades later, the decadence of Florence Broadhurst has been channeled into a new range of handbags in the first collaboration between Signature Prints (custodians of the Florence Broadhurst library) and Eclettica.

After establishing Eclettica in 1997, designer Alexia Gnecchi-Ruscone relocated to Milan Italy in 2000, sourcing materials, designing and overseeing production for some of the top Italian designers. Influenced by the European craftsmanship and aesthetic, Alexia returned to Sydney to relaunch Eclettica in 2004.

The friendship and business relationship between Alexia of Eclettica and Helen Lennie of Signature Prints began in the early days of Eclettica. Helen Lennie quotes:

“My husband and business partner said I should not buy any more handbags as we would have to move house….he didn't say anything about not collaborating to produce them. Alexia and I are having a blast….what a wild ride for Florence . She would love her designs being in those first class cabins. She would think it was where she deserved to be!”

The 2008 release of the ‘Florence Broadhurst & Eclettica' range represents the best in international design and luxury, featuring beautiful woven jacquard fabrics in the Aubrey, Circles and Squares, Horses Stampede and Tudor Floral designs with detailing in hand-stitched Italian leather.
