VIP visitors to the World Expo 2005, in Aichi , Nagoya, Japan, have the opportunity to see the breathtaking fabrics and wallpapers of Florence Broadhurst which will decorate the Australian VIP areas. Signature Prints has supplied 130 metres of wallpaper and 189 metres of fabric. The expo runs from 25 March 2005 to 25 September 2005. Nagoya is 1 hour and 50 minutes by train from Tokyo (2 hours and 40 minutes from Tokyo Narita Airport ) and 35 minutes by train from Kyoto (just under two hours by train from Osaka 's Kansai Airport ). David Lennie, Signature Prints CEO, says: “This gives Signature Prints an opportunity to have its print works showcased in Japan for six months. The timing couldn't be better – the UK/Europe market is consolidating; the USA is sampled and excited; Asia and especially Japan is Signature Prints' next target market. The stars are definitely in alignment!” Signature Prints' involvement in furnishing the Australian Pavilion came after they were contacted by Dirk Zimmerman of Studio 505. After speaking to marketing director Helen Lennie, a large sample box was sent to him which included Florence Broadhurst fabric and wallpaper on boards. The designs and colours were discussed and narrowed down, and Dirk was very excited by the fact that Signature Prints can print on faux suede and other base cloths. Helen Lennie says: “Dirk is easy and fun to work with. Given the brief of keeping it quite subtle, he has managed to pull together a vibrant yet sophisticated interior.” Product details The details of the Florence Broadhurst fabric and wallpaper specified for the Australian Pavilion are as follows: Commissioner's Office: visitor chairs, reception foyer, waiting benches, and cushions Fabric design: Japanese Fans -- Colourway: Scribbly Red on Flame macro suede.
