Is wallpaper cyclical – what are Helen’s thoughts on the trends of Wall Decor?

Wallpaper is a product typically attached to a fashion cycle. Signature Prints continued to print wallpaper throughout the “down time” (l990’s) and mainly for an older market. Often for families who have lived with original wallpapers on their walls. Such is the following for Florence Broadhurst that we have been asked to reproduce wallpaper in its original colour way and base paper many, many times. Wallpaper often becomes a part of family life. I can still remember choosing my own wallpaper (an oversized poppy in a rich purple on a pale pink for my bedroom as a young girl). When the fashion cycle kicks in and wall coverings become cool once again, the next users who are keen followers of fashion and are always looking for a point of difference. Strong in colouration skill, this set often wants bespoke work (to be part of the process). Layers and layers of end users now appear each with different outcomes in mind. How far are we into this cycle? Well I think those once clear 7-10 year cycles are gone. In this ever changing climate we are now in who knows, but I can share with you wallpaper continues to grow for Signature Prints and we see no decline in interest.
